Abstract

Presents data based on a questionnaire given to 250 married Hindu females from upper-middle and middle class nuclear families. Preliminary analysis indicates marriages initiated below 16 yrs of age were negatively associated with marital happiness; those in which there was little age difference (0-6 yrs) between spouses were also less happy. There were positive relationships between marital happiness and income, sexual satisfaction, and education.
