Compared 75 male Indian university students who scored high and 75 who scored low on a modified version of the California F scale. Each S was given a scale of 20 items selected from Itkin's V scale to obtain perceptions of parental handling experienced in childhood, and 20 items to measure attitudes toward children. 25 fathers of Ss in each group were administered the same Itkin items. T-test analysis supported the conclusion that high authoritarian Ss differ significantly from the low group in the manner of their upbringing.
