About the Journal

The National Journal of Professional Social Work (NJPSW) is an official publication of the Indian Society of Professional Social Work (ISPSW). NJPSW is a peer-reviewed/refereed open access, indexed journal, primarily publishing original articles pertinent to social work practice and research. The NJPSW aims to nurture evidence-based practice among professional social workers in India. The journal is published biannually, which also includes the papers awarded at the Annual National Conference of ISPSW. Articles are contributed by eminent educators, practitioners, researchers, scholars and students of social work.

Editorial Policies

Publication Frequency

The National Journal of Social Work publishes biannually in June and December.

Open Access Policy

NJPSW provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

NJPSW utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism in any form will not be accepted and whenever plagiarism is detected in part of a manuscript, resubmission will be asked for. If the author(s) submit a revised draft, it will be again sent for peer review. If the entire manuscript is found to be plagiarized, the NJPSW will reject it and not entertain any resubmissions. The National Journal of Professional Social Work checks for plagiarism using free and open-source plagiarism checker tools.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. 

Peer Review Process

All submissions, except editorial, will be screened by the editors for suitability and matching the journal policies and style.  If it is found suitable then submissions will be forwarded for blind peer review to two or more peer reviewers. After receiving reviewers comment the editor will communicate with the corresponding author about the decision. The author may be asked to review or rewrite a part or the whole submission. The editor reserves the right to reject the submission or decline publication without sighting any reason. NJPSW is not charging any submission, processing and publication fee or charges.
