Abstract

The discipline of social work in India has long engaged with poverty, inequality, mental health, and community empowerment. Yet, in a society where religion and spirituality are woven into everyday life, the profession has often been cautious in engaging with these powerful dimensions of human existence. Today, as the challenges of mental distress, loneliness, dislocation, and social fragmentation intensify, there is an urgent need to revisit the role of religion and spirituality as resources for well-being in social work practice.
